Gangnam Style Christmas – Fountain Valley Christmas Lights 2012 by DeversDreamWeavers

This is Gangnam Style Christmas mix, sync’d to 65558 programmable RGB LEDs, we’ve added a few new things for this years display, most notably the arches in the driveway, and some down lights.

In case you haven’t read the other descriptions in last years videos; This is dedicated to Larry Stewart. My good friends, Larry and his wife wanted to have an extra special light display for Christmas, I was called upon to make it happen. I started planning started early 2011, to gather parts, software, & knowledge that I would need to pull it off… but sadly, Larry had succumb to mesothelioma, a type of cancer on May 15th 2011 before ever getting to see it in person. This is the second year of this light display for Christmas, indubitably dedicated to Larry Stewart.

This display runs 65558 RGB LED Lights, the same amount of DMX channels, pumping ArtNet-II over a gigabit ethernet network at 50Hz, controlled and programmed by me using Madrix on a single PC and auxiliary remote control with a Google Nexus 10 tablet.

It draws an average of 10-14 amps, with a maximum of 27.5 amps. So it’s roughly equivalent to a microwave or vacuum cleaner running. This pales in comparison to old school Christmas lights. The power bill bump of $30-$50 USD is worth it for all the joy it brings everyone who comes to see it!

To get to us, exit the 405 freeway at Euclid or Ellis exits, travel on Ellis St towards Ward and Ellis intersection, turn NORTH on Ward, get ready to make a LEFT on Apache River into the Greenbrook development. You won’t miss us once you travel down Apache River, look for the glow!

Video was shot with a Nikon D800 and Tamron 24-70mm VC lens

It looks amazing, but i would be better, if there were a sence of tact. You
could use the lower lights for the beat etc.
